LOCKERS & CHANGING
Attendant Station
2min
Larger facilities may have a dedicated attendant station in lieu of the issue storage. The concierge of the locker room, the attendant will greet guests, program their activities, and outfit them with towels, locker assignments, robes and footwear.
When possible, provide a common passageway between the men’s and women’s attendant stations to permit sharing resources while maintaining visual privacy. Position with discreet access to the linen storage areas. Make certain there is no line of sight into the locker rooms from this area.
- A stand-up height work surface, check governing codes for regulatory requirements. Design the station to permit the attendant to “walk around to assist guests.” Include a computer station to check appointments.
- Provide shelving for spa supplies, linens, garments, footwear, and towels, concealed from guest view.
- Provide a work surface a minimum of .91m H x .76m D x 1.52m L (36” x 30” deep x 5’) to fold linen.
- Include clothes rods for hanging robes or garments concealed from guest view.
- Include an area to wash footwear. Footwear cleaning requires a double drawer commercial dishwasher, or a two compartment, commercial kitchen sink, extra deep bowls, stainless steel, with integral drain board. This equipment should not be visible to guests.
- If the lockers are keyed, provide storage for locker keys.
- A phone with the ringer turned off.
- Duress alarm indicator.
- Audio control for sound in the locker areas.
