LOCKERS & CHANGING
Showers
3min
Provide a two compartment shower enclosure for guest use before and after spa and fitness activities and in conjunction with wet amenities such as sauna, steam room, and pools. The first compartment acts as a private dry changing area.
Showers should be grouped together and separated from other locker functions, but assembled around a common corridor or alcove. Locate immediately adjacent to the wet amenity areas to allow sauna, steam, and pool users to shower as part of their wet area experience. Position the showers close to the sinks and grooming areas.
- The shower compartments should measure a minimum of 1.2m W x 2.1m D (4’ x 7’) overall.
- At showers provide durable wall mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
- Consider a corner shaving foot shelf at 45cm (18”) AFF in the women’s showers.
- At the men’s shower, consider a shelf shaving station designed to hold a wet razor, shaving cream, and fogless mirror.
- In the dry shower compartment include a bench seat, two robe hooks, and a shelf for eye glasses or jewelry.
- At accessible showers provide grab bars, thresholds, foldable seats, hand held showers, and controls as specified by the governing codes.
- Position a towel station adjacent to showers.
