Sleep Lounge
4min
Provide an enclosed and quiet lounge for short sleeping sessions. This is an amenity lounge offering a dedicated space for sleeping.
Place the lounge adjacent to other relaxation lounges and treatment room areas.
- Locate the lounge away from active areas.
- Acoustically isolate this space from active areas
- If the project and menu allows the shared amenity sleep lounge space may be replaced with individual sleep cabins to create revenue generating sleep areas.
- Minimize the number of doors and passageways as is feasible. The paths that connect them should be as short and direct as possible without interfering with activity areas within the space.
- Provide chaise loungers, reclining chairs or zero-gravity loungers to promote the proper position for falling asleep quickly.
- Include a self-service beverage station.
- Provide linen display storage for guests to select a blanket, neck pillow, and eye pillow for use during their nap.
- Provide a linen drop for disposal of blankets and pillows after each nap.
- Provide access to sound cancelling headphones or personal music devices.
- Acoustics: The sleep lounges require a quiet, soothing environment. Construct the enclosure to meet a minimum Sound Transmission Coefficient of 54.
- Window Treatments: Locate sleep lounges without windows. If windows are included provide appropriate privacy coverings capable of darkening the room.
